Best Places to Stay for Round Top Antique Week

If you've never been to Round Top Antique Week, the first thing to understand is the scale: a town of about 90 people hosts one of the largest antique shows in America, stretching for miles along Highway 237 through the fields of Round Top, Warrenton, and Marburger Farm. The second thing to understand is that lodging is the hard part — and the people who enjoy the show most are the ones who solved it early.

How lodging works during the shows

There are no big hotels in Round Top. Lodging is a patchwork of guest houses, B&Bs, ranches, and rentals scattered through the countryside, and the closest ones book out months in advance — often the week the previous show ends. Many shoppers end up commuting 45 minutes to an hour each way from Brenham, La Grange, or even Austin and Houston.

That commute matters more than people expect. Show days start early and end dusty. The difference between a ten-minute drive back to a porch overlooking a pond versus an hour on a two-lane highway is the difference between a trip you savor and a trip you survive.

When to book

For the fall show (October), book by early summer. For spring (March–April), book before the holidays. Festival pricing and minimum-night stays are standard across the area during show weeks — ours included — so the earlier you commit, the better your options.

Why guests choose Reindeer Ranch

We're a 50-acre family ranch in Carmine, seven miles from the Round Top square — close enough to be first in the fields each morning, far enough that the only sounds at night are crickets and wind in the oaks. Four cabins — Rudolph, Cupid, Dancer, and Blitzen — sleep two to four guests each, with more cabins and a handful of RV sites on the way.

Book direct through our site and you'll always get our best available rate — and a local's guide to the shows: which fields to start in, where the pie line is shortest, and where to find a cold drink at 4 PM.
