Since 1970, University of Texas students have performed Shakespeare in a converted 19th-century hay barn at Winedale — a beloved, only-in-Texas tradition that draws audiences from all over the state each summer. The setting is rustic and intimate, the energy is infectious, and the history runs deep.
It's an unexpected, wonderful evening: rough-hewn timbers, simple staging, and young actors who clearly love the work. Pair it with an early dinner and you have a perfect Round Top-area summer night.
